What is Mindfulness?
Mindfulness can be described as paying attention to what we are experiencing, and doing so with a particular attitude: One of curiosity, openness, acceptance and warmth. Simply observing what we are experiencing, right now, and bringing a warm curiosity to whatever arises.
Why Mindfulness Meditation for Life?
This course investigates a series of meditation exercises with some practical advice on how to apply them. Mindfulness Meditation for Life is unique in that it is not directed toward getting us to be different from how we already are. Instead, it helps us become aware of what is already true moment to moment. We could say that this practice teaches us how to be unconditionally present, with whatever is happening. We give guidance on how to establish a personal meditation practice through theory, practice, and shared experiences.
Our Philosophy
Attitude is everything. Rather than adding things to your "to do" list, choose to practice because you care about your capacity for love, clarity, and inner peace. This course is a hands on practical experience on your part. You will be given tools on how to integrate mindfulness practices into your everyday life, but it's your personal practice that will be the most life changing factor.
Zen proverb: "The most important thing is remembering the most important thing." It is helpful to recall from the very start what matters most to you, what draws you to meditate, and what will connect you in a sincere way to your heart's desire. This should always be your intention for practicing Mindfulness Meditation for Life.
